Volleyball: IU East 3, Shawnee State 0
RICHMOND, Ind. – The IU East women’s volleyball team won four sets, which ended up being two River States Conference wins for the Red Wolves on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The Red Wolves finished the suspended match against Shawnee State University winning the first set of the day, which counted as the third set dating back to September 27. The final was 25-22, 25-19, 25-22.
After the brief intermission, the Red Wolves then swept the Bears 25-15, 25-15, 28-26 to improve to 22-9 overall and 11-3 in RSC play.
Teah Barrett Matthews led IU East with 18 kills, while Aislyn Hogan tallied 38 assists. The Red Wolves hit .299 on the day.
With the win, IU East still sits in third place in the conference standings with one week remaining. The Red Wolves will host WVU Tech on Friday (Nov. 8) before ending the regular season with a match against Midway University on Saturday.
