RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The Indiana University East volleyball team started its River States Conference schedule with an 18-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-16, 15-12 loss at the University of Rio Grande on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Red Wolves are now 10-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while Rio Grande is 12-4, 1-0.
Jessica Swimm led the Red Wolves with 14 kills inside Newt Oliver Arena as Teah Barrett Matthews and Amyra Lockett both finished with 10.
Aislyn Hogan had 37 assists for IU East.
Defensively, Ella Bickel had a team-high 21 digs for IU East. Abby Herman finished with 15 digs. Swimm added 13 and Summer Hendershot contributed 11.
Next up for the Red Wolves is a RSC contest on Lingle Court against IU Kokomo on Friday, Sept. 20. The match gets underway at 7 p.m.
