BECKLEY, W.Va. – Brooke Lepper had a game-high 10 kills, and head coach Kim McConaha earned her 100th career win as the Red Wolves defeated WVU Tech 3-0 on Saturday.
The win places the Red Wolves atop of the RSC East standings and improving to 11-6 on the season.
The Red Wolves never trailed in the first two sets. They were able to establish momentum on early runs in both. A 4-1 run in the first and an 8-1 run in the second to help secure the first two set wins.
WVU Tech scored the first point of the third set but then the Red Wolves went on an 8-1 run to all but seal it. The Golden Bears were able to trim that deficit but never came closer than three points.
Jessica Swimm had six kills and 13 digs. Loretta Pelkington also had six kills. Reece Shirley added 25 assists and seven digs.
The Red Wolves are back on the road next weekend as they take on Midway on Friday and Alice Lloyd on Saturday.
