UPLAND, Ind. – The IU East women's volleyball team started off Taylor University Tournament on the right foot Friday defeating Cumberland (TN) in straight sets (25-22, 29-27, 25-23).
The win evens the Red Wolves record at 5-5 on the season.
Jessica Swimm led with 24 kills. Brooke Lepper tallied nine kills and Tia Cooper had eight. Reece Shirley contributed 42 assists and had 10 digs.
IU East was scheduled to play Great Lakes Christian in the first game but it was cancelled due to Covid protocol within the Great Lakes Christian team.
The Red Wolves will face off against Trinity Christian in the morning game followed up by a game against Madonna at 2 p.m.
