Volleyball: Red Wolves win on Senior Day

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East volleyball team celebrated Senior Day with a 25-15, 25-15, 26-24 victory over Point Park University on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Brooke Lepper was honored prior to the River States Conference contest on Lingle Court along with Jessica Swimm, Teah Barrett Mathews and Reece Shirley.

"It's really special to be with them," said Lepper, who is the only one not returning next season. "We've come a long way with this team. The culture we've built is really strong."

With their 15th straight win, Red Wolves are 24-6 overall and 15-1 in the RSC, Point Park is 6-18 and 3-13 in the league.

"We played good," Lepper said. "We had a four-set match last night and they went to five with Shawnee State. Saturday is always a little harder. I'm glad we got it over with and got it done."

It was the second win for IU East this season over Point Park as the Red Wolves were victorious 25-22, 25-8, 25-22 in the previous affair.

On Saturday, Swimm led the Red Wolves with 14 kills as Lepper finished with nine kills and 12 digs.

Shirley had 35 assists and Ella Bickel added a team-high 15 digs.

The Red Wolves return to action at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Tuesday, Oct. 31. The match begins at 7 p.m.
