Indoor Track: RSC Indoor Championships Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Indiana University East track and field teams are heading to Ohio for the 2025 River States Conference Indoor Championships this weekend.

The two-day affair begins Friday, Feb. 14. Friday's action inside the Dyson Baudo Rec Center on the campus of Marietta College starts at 3 p.m. Saturday's field events get underway at 9 a.m. Races on the track beginning with the women's mile start at 10 a.m.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* IU East's men won the team title back in 2020.  Last season, both IU East teams finished sixth out of 11 squads.

* Athletes finishing in the top three in an event earn all-conference honors. The top eight places score in the meet.

* Mackenzie Rohde was named the RSC Female Track Athlete of the Week on Feb. 10.

* Cameron Nocton (men's 3,000-meter Race Walk) is a two-time individual champion for IU East and the top seed in this year's event with a NAIA "A" qualifying standard time of 13:13.16.

* Brody Puckett (men's 600 meters) is IU East's other individual No. 1 seed with a time of 1:24.82.

* The Red Wolves also have the best time in the women's 3,200-meter relay as the group of Emily Fleming, Savanna Smith, Hannah Best and Kendra Shipman with 10:29.48. IU East also has four other relay teams ranked in the top three.

* Other Red Wolves ranked in the top three of their individual events are:
Owen Beachler (second, men's 60-meter hurdles, 8.69)
India Benton (second in women's 400, 1:06.46 and third in 200, 26.56)
Fleming (second in women's 1,000 meters, 3:15.35 and third in women's 800, 2:24.30)
Sarah Marshall (second in women's 600, 1:45.72)
Connor Nease (tied for second in men's pole vault, 4.00)
Rohde (third in women's 400, 1:02.32)
Carson Shepherd (tied for second in men's pole vault, 4.00)
Tristan Thomas (second in men's 60 meters, 6.96)
