Women's Tennis: IU East 6, Concordia Chicago 0
CHICAGO – The IU East women’s tennis team won their first match of the season in quick fashion over Concordia University-Chicago 6-0.
The Red Wolves grabbed the doubles point after winning at No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Gracie Helms and Brooke Schafstall won at No. 1 6-3 while Lexi Swauger and Chantelle Mapondera won at No. 2 Doubles 6-1.
In singles, IU East only allowed CUC to score more than 3 points in one set, No. 5 Singles. Swauger still won 6-1, 6-4. Schafstall won at No. 1 Singles 6-1, 6-0. Helms blanked her opponent at No. 2 Singles 6-0, 6-0. Mapondera and Kerstin Ellis matched Brooke’s 6-1, 6-0 scores.
The Red Wolves will travel to Indiana Tech on March 7 for their next match.
