Red Wolves Take Down Shawnee for First RSC Win

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – The IU East women's tennis team earned their first conference win of the season as they defeated Shawnee State 6-1.

The win improves their record to 4-3 on the year and a 1-0 conference mark.

The Red Wolves were able to grab the doubles point after Eva Cabellero and Linda Marino won at No. 1 Doubles 6-3. Gracie Helms and Brooke Schafstall clinched the point with a win at No. 3 Doubles by the score of 6-1.

In four of the five singles matches, the Red Wolves swept. Laura Billing dropped her No. 4 Singles match but Kerstin Ellis won her No. 5 Singles match 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 (10-6).

The Red Wolves will travel to Midway next Friday.
