Women's Soccer: IU East 1, SMWC 0
CENTERVILLE, Ind. - It took a long time, but the goal was worth the wait.
Vanessa Temple found the back of the net at the 85:25 mark to give the Indiana University East women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Thursday, Oct. 24.
With the River States Conference win at Centerville High School, IU East is 4-7-3 overall and 4-1-1 in the league. St. Mary-of-the-Woods falls to 2-9-3 and 1-4-1.
The Red Wolves had a 22-3 advantage in shots, but they couldn't break through until Temple scored with an assist from Zaryah Griffin.
IU East goalkeeper Kylie O'Leary had three saves for the Red Wolves as she recorded the shutout.
Next up for IU East is the University of Rio Grande at Eaton (Ohio) High School on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Red Wolves will look for their third win in a row as the RSC affair begins at 3 p.m.
