CENTERVILLE, Ind. - Vanessa Temple scored a pair of goals in the opening half to lead the Indiana University East women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Shawnee State University on Thursday, Oct. 5.
IU East is now 1-5-6 overall and 1-1-3 in the River States Conference after the contest at Centerville High School. Shawnee State is 2-8-1 and 2-2-1.
With the scored tied at 1-1, Temple worked her way past a defender to put the Red Wolves on top at the 26:39 mark.
Temple's final score came on a corner kick by Maggie Bischoff at 38:29.
Bischoff scored her seventh goal of the season to give the Red Wolves an early advantage at 2:31.
The Bears responded with a score at 9:22 to even the affair.
Goalkeeper Kylie O'Leary recorded all four of her saves in the second half to preserve the victory.
The Red Wolves entertain WVU Tech at Eaton (Ohio) High School on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
