Women's Golf: IU East at Saddlebrook Spring Kick-off Day 1 Recap

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - The Indiana University East women's golf team opened the 2025 portion of its season at the Saddlebrook Spring Kick-off Tournament on Tuesday, March 4.

Jalyn Bruns led the Red Wolves in the first round of the three-day affair on the Palmer Course with an 82, which puts her in a tie for seventh place on the individual leaderboard.

"I had a pretty solid round today," Bruns said. "My irons weren't perfect, but my driver kept me out of trouble, and I was able to make a few good putts. Hopefully, I can keep it going tomorrow."

The second round gets underway on Wednesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

Liv Sanders carded an 83 to finish in a tie for 11th.

The scores for the other Red Wolves were Sophia Curry 91 (T27th), Lainey Jackson 97 (31st) and Katie Craig 106 (37th).

"We are knocking off some winter rust here in Florida," IU East coach Billy Mullin said. "Today was tough on most of our team, but I thought Jalyn and Liv both played pretty well today. I look for the team to improve through the tournament."

Overall, IU East is sixth as a team with 353. No. 5 Marian University leads the field of seven squads with a score of 310. Mackendzie Dresbaugh of Marian is the top individual after the first round with a 75.
