Women's Basketball: IU East 78, Defiance 52

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East women's basketball team won its third straight as the Red Wolves defeated Defiance College 78-52 on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

With the win on Lingle Court, IU East is 3-5 as Defiance falls to 0-6.

Taylor Farris topped the Red Wolves with 24 points and five assists as she grabbed seven rebounds.

Also in double digits were Ellysa Morris with 15 points and Gracie Kramer with 11.

Rilee Terry tossed in eight points with six rebounds. Abbie Lucas finished with a team-high eight rebounds and Sally Mortensen pulled down six boards.

After the score was tied at 4-4 in the opening period, the Red Wolves went on an 11-0 run to take control on the way to a 24-12 advantage at the first stop. IU East led 43-34 at the intermission and 56-46 after three before the Red Wolves pulled away in the final stanza.

The Red Wolves are back in action at home against Alice Lloyd College on Saturday, Dec. 7. The River States Conference affair gets underway at 3 p.m.
