Bio
RICHMOND, Ind. - Cam Tiberg, who has produced notable results in performance and recruiting at NAIA programs in recent years, was named the cross country head coach at Indiana University East in October 2021.
"There is a lot to really like about IU East," Tiberg said. "The location, being a public institution, and the rich history. I'm excited to have the opportunity to come in and put my stamp on the program and build it even further than what it already is."
In his first year at IU East, Tiberg coached a pair of Red Wolves to the NAIA National Championships. During cross country, Savannah Hart was All-River States Conference First Team as she finished seventh at the RSC Championships to qualify for nationals with a 20:22. During the outdoor track and field season, Chance Klipstine finished 17th in the 800 meters at the NAIA Outdoor Championships (1:54.44) after establishing an IU East record in the 800 at the North Central College-Carius/Gregory Meet (1:53.52).
Tiberg moved from one pack of Wolves to another. He had most recently served as the assistant cross country and assistant track and field coach for the Lourdes University Gray Wolves, another NAIA program. At Lourdes, Tiberg helped sign a 43-athlete recruiting class and helped coach Gray Wolves athletes to 21 school records in just one year.
Tiberg previously served as the head cross country coach at Holy Family College, where he coached three NAIA national qualifiers - including the school record holders for the Holy Family men's and women's programs - and brought in the largest cross country recruiting class in program history.

Tiberg's pledge to IU East runners: "Something I pride myself in is putting my athletes in the best position to compete. I want to make sure the athletes are confident in what they are doing, and I will do everything in my power to prepare them to compete, athletically and academically. I'll be there behind them and pushing them to make sure they have the confidence to succeed.
"The biggest thing I want to do for each individual athlete is get the best out of them, academically, athletically, mentally and socially. I want them to have the full college experience, and also help them achieve the success they are looking for."
Tiberg is a native of Forest, Wis. He competed in cross country and track and field at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where he was a team captain and academic all-conference honoree.
He earned his bachelor's degree in speech communication from UW-Superior. He completed his master's degree in communication at UW-Stevens Point.
Tiberg also serves as an IU East track and field assistant coach.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT CAM TIBERG
"We had a very strong candidate pool, especially for this late in the season. Cam came to the top with his experience in the NAIA as well as his overall experience in recruiting. Cam will be a good addition to the IU East coaching staff. We look forward to him joining us and keeping our cross country and track and field programs moving forward and getting stronger." - Joe Griffin, IU East Director of Athletics
"Cam is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever been around. His commitment to the cross country program and his student-athletes at Holy Family were a joy to watch. I’m excited for this next chapter in his career." - Brandt Danals, athletic director at Holy Family College during Tiberg's tenure
"Cam Tiberg. GREAT young man. Glad you’ve gone with him. He will not disappoint. This I know: He’s highly motivated. Highly invested in his programs and his athletes, and works very hard to be the best coach and mentor he can be. I have no reservations on saying he’s a GREAT hire. He showed what he could be while here as an undergrad, but is starting to show just how good he can be at the collegiate level by his past appointments. Cam is a great coach, but an even better person. Someone I often refer to when talking about great leaders in the history of our program. I wish Cam and the Red Wolves the best of luck and much success under coach Cam Tiberg! - Glen P. Drexler, University of Wisconsin-Superior cross country and track & field head coach
