Men's Cross Country: NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's cross country team competes in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The host of the 16th annual event at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids is Aquinas College.

IU East will be in the "Maroon" Division, which has 11 ranked squads. The Red Wolves and four other teams also received votes in the latest NAIA poll.

Time Schedule

10 a.m. - Men's Maroon 8K

11 a.m. - Women's Maroon 5K

11:45 a.m. - Men's White 8K

12:45 p.m. - Women's White 5K

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* This is the last race for IU East before the Red Wolves take part in the River States Conference Championships hosted by Oakland City University hosts in Evansville on Saturday, Nov. 9.

* Overall, in the four races there are 42 schools in this NAIA event with nine conferences represented.

* There will be individual awards for the top 20 finishers in each race.

* IU East was eighth out of 30 squads in the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5.

* The Red Wolves are joined by several RSC schools in this event. Ranked No. 14 the University of Rio Grande and No. 20 Shawnee State University are in the Maroon races.

* IU Columbus, IU Kokomo, Oakland City and St. Mary-of-the-Woods College are in the White race.
