Red Wolves Run in First Meet of 2023

DAYTON, Ohio – The men's and women's cross country teams kicked off the 2023 season in the Mike Baumer XC Classic Friday night.

 

The men finished seventh out of 15 schools, including multiple NCAA Div. I schools. The Red Wolves finished ahead of Wright State with Ohio State, IUPUI, Dayton, and Oakland participating.

 

Mylan Nocton finished first for the Red Wolves. His time of 15:07.6 was good for 19th overall. Tucker Burris was next, finishing in 45th. Teagen Rodriguez (55th, 15:46.7) and Richard Bower (56th, 15:51.5) were third and fourth. Rounding out the Red Wolves runners were Braden Coate (64th, 15:56.6), Cameron Nocton (67th, 15:59.3), Wyatt Beck (84th, 16:19.8), Kyle Stanley (91st, 16:26.1), Ian Davis (102nd, 16:37.3), Carter Walsman (106th, 16:42.3), Ryan Schindler (123rd, 17:17.5), Denis Kale (135th, 17:51.7), and AJ Ludwig (139th, 18:13.0).

 

On the women's side, the Red Wolves finished eighth of 13. Makenzee Kahn was the fastest for IU East. She was 47th with a time of 19:40.8. Chloe Scales followed finishing 56th and a time of 20:25.6. Brooklyn Miras (61st, 20:42.5), Maddy Wolf (70th, 21:08.3), Julia Arruda (75th, 21:15.2), Sarah Kwiatkowski (81st, 21:27.1), Abby Page (91st, 21:46.0), Rylee Raymond (95th, 21:54.2), Hannah Best (98th, 22:08.9), Aeriel Snyder (115th, 23:19.4), Anna Johnston (119th, 23:48.7), and Alexis Dean (120th, 23:54.0) rounded out the runners for the Red Wolves.

 

The Red Wolves will take a two week break before their next meet. They will travel to Versailles, KY to run in the River States Conference Preview on Sept. 16.
