Indoor Track & Field: DePauw Invitational Recap
GREENCASTLE, Ind. - The Indiana University East indoor track and field teams had a pair of winners as the Red Wolves competed in the DePauw University Indoor Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10.
There were also three IU East records that fell in DePauw's Indoor Tennis and Track Center.
Teagen Rodriguez was the only Red Wolf to accomplish both a win and a record in the same event as he was first in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:37.97.
Mylan Nocton was the other victor for IU East as he claimed the 3,000-meter race in 8:56.30.
The first IU East record of the day was established by the women's 800-meter relay squad of Vanessa Temple, Kaleah Louden, Brooke Sudhoff and India Benton as they finished third in 1:56.34.
Kyler Shultz was fifth in the men's weight throw with an IU East record distance of 16.13 meters.
The other top five finishes for the IU East women were Sudhoff (second, pole vault, 3.05 meters), Hannah Best (second, 600, 1:50.55), Eleanor Hasenour (second, 1,000, 3:45.35), Naleya Kinney (second, long jump, 4.79 meters), Sarah Marshall (third, 600, 1:53.61), Benton (fourth, 400, 1:05.06), Kinney (fourth, triple jump, 9.89 meters), Anna Johnston (fourth, 600, 1:57.46) and Loryn Metzger (fifth, shot put, 10.87 meters)
The remaining men's top five individual finishers were Denis Kale (third, 1,000, 2:41.43) and Ty Williams (fifth, shot put, 14.38 meters).
IU East's men's 800-meter relay team of Mason Romack, Grant Luebbe, Connor Nease and Miguel Mendez, Jr. was fourth with a time of 1:36.28.
As a team, the women were fourth out of eight squads, while the men were sixth.
Next up for the Red Wolves is the River States Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 17 in Logan, Ohio.
