Tennis: IU East at Indiana Wesleyan Recap

MARION, Ind. - Playing its first outdoor match of 2025, the Indiana University East tennis team fell at Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday, March 11.

IWU's nationally ranked women swept the Red Wolves 7-0. At the No. 2 doubles position, Chantelle Mapondera and Lexi Swauger challenged the Wildcats team of Lauren Dick and Paige Reigsecker, falling 6-3. In singles, the Red Wolves showed promise, scoring 14 games on the day. Kerstin Ellis lost a close match at No. 3 Singles 6-3, 6-4.

In men's action, IWU also swept IU East 7-0. Sachin Vanaraja continued his strong start to the season by scoring a team-high six games at No. 2 singles against the Wildcats Leif Clerc. Clerc defeated Vanaraja 6-2 6-4.

The Red Wolves will look to use the upcoming Spring Break to get healthy after battling sickness for multiple weeks. The men and women return to action on March 23, as they take on both Webster University and host Franklin College.
