Men's Tennis Drops Season Opener to Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The IU East men's tennis team kicked off their 2023 fall schedule on Friday.

However, the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University defeated the Red Wolves 7-2.

The Red Wolves grabbed their points at No. 1 and No. 2 Singles. Francisco Faundez won his No. 1 Singles match 6-1, 6-1 and Sebastian Torrealba won 6-1, 6-1 as well.

IUE was close to grabbing a point at No. 2 Doubles. Kyle Hollingsworth and Matthew Nel lost 7-5 on the tiebreaker set to drop the point 8-7.

The team will travel to Wittenberg on Tuesday for the next match.
