Men's Soccer: IU East 2, UC Clemont 1

CENTERVILLE, Ind. - A pair of goals in the second half proved to be the difference as the Indiana University East men's soccer team defeated the University of Cincinnati Clermont 2-1 on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

With the victory at Centerville High School, IU East evened its record at 6-6 overall. UC Clermont is 3-6.

After a scoreless opening period, the Cougars got on the scoreboard with a goal at the 54:53 mark by Alex McAfee.

The Red Wolves responded quickly to tie the non-conference affair as Keylin Hyman found the back of the net with an assist from Bawi Ting.

Biak Peng Ceu picked up the game-winner at 71:58 as the Red Wolves were able to hang on the rest of the way.

Peter Lamprou had five saves in the first half for IU East, while Elijah Williamson had two stops in the second stanza.

Next up is a River States Conference contest against St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Thursday, Oct. 24. The match in Centerville gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
