Comeback Bid Falls Short in Loss to Alice Lloyd

Pippa Passes, KY – Antuane Allen scored 18 points off the bench to match Colt Meyer for the team-high but the Red Wolves would drop the RSC clash against Alice Lloyd Saturday, 87-82.

The Red Wolves drop to 6-10 overall and 2-3 in RSC play. The Eagles improved to 10-7 and 2-5 respectively.

The score stayed close for most of the game until the Eagles went on a run in the second half to go up 71-53 with 7:23 remaining in the game. Meyer hit a triple shortly after to start the run. Trailing 74-60, Sekou Maiga's dunk sparked a 17-4 run as the Red Wolves got to within three points with 1:41 to play.

But the Eagles were able to hit their free throws down the stretch to hold off IU East.

Jake Johnson scored 15 points with eight rebounds and Ibra Athie was also in double figures with 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Red Wolves travel to Shawnee State on Tuesday.
