Men's Basketball: IU East 91, Crowley's Ridge 83

OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team picked up a 91-83 victory over Crowley's Ridge College on Friday, Dec. 22. 

With the win in the Johnson Center on the Oakland City University campus, IU East is 5-7. Crowley's Ridge falls to 3-12.

Colt Meyer topped IU East with 34 points, while Jake Johnson finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and a team-high seven assists.

Ibra Athie tossed in 12 points as he led the Red Wolves with eight rebounds. Kobe Ward also had seven rebounds. Tobey Billups handed out six assists.

After Crowley's Ridge hit the first basket of the contest, the Red Wolves scored 15 straight points as Johnson capped the run with a layup at the 16:27 mark of the opening period.

IU East led by as much as 16 points during the frame as the Red Wolves eventually held a 47-36 advantage by the intermission.

In the second half, the Pioneers cut their deficit to 79-77 with 2:55 remaining. However, the Red Wolves were able to hang on for the win. 

Next up for IU East is a trip to Bethel University on Saturday, Dec. 30.
