Men's Basketball: WVU Tech at IU East Preview

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's basketball team is looking for a for a second straight win as the Red Wolves entertain WVU Tech on Monday, Jan. 8.

The River States Conference affair on Lingle Court is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The IU East women's squad opens the doubleheader against the Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m.

IU East is 6-8 overall with a 2-2 record in the conference. The Red Wolves defeated Miami University Middletown 108-46 at home on Thursday, Jan. 4.

Winners of seven in a row, WVU Tech is 11-3 with a league mark of 4-1. The Golden Bears won 80-76 at Oakland City University last weekend.

General admission for IU East basketball is $7. IU East students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their university ID.

YOU OUGHT TO KNOW

* IU East won last season's RSC Tournament affair against WVU Tech 117-115 in four overtimes on Lingle Court.

* Antuane Allen led IU East with a season-high 20 points in the win over Miami Middletown.

* In addition to Allen, five more players reached double figures for the Red Wolves. Jake Johnson had 18 points as he was followed by Raedhyn Foust (17), Kobe Ward (16), Colt Meyer (14) and Ibra Albie (13).

* Albie finished with 10 rebounds to record a double-double as Tobey Billups handed out 11 assists.

* Braden Chapman topped WVU Tech with 31 points against Oakland City, while Ashton Parker had 22 points and 11 rebounds.
