Red Wolves Win Overwatch 2 Championship over ATCC

The world needs heroes… and the Red Wolves answer the call.

IU East Esports takes home their first championship defeating Alexandria Technical and Community College 3-1 in Overwatch 2.

ATCC managed to take the first match in the game mode "Control" on Busan. Despite a win, IU East kept the scores close. When the next match, "Hybrid" on King's Row began, ATCC was able to escort the payload to the end of the map with a solid minute and a half left on the clock. When IU East stepped up to escort, they ran the course of the map with five minutes left on the clock. ATCC couldn't get a foothold after that, and gave the match to IUE. Match 3 saw the teams compete in "Flashpoint" on Survasa. Despite a tight fight at every point, IU East couldn't be stopped. In the final match, "Push" on Esperanca, IU East made an initial push and almost reached the final goal in under two minutes. ATCC was able to rally a solid defense and push IUE back, but ultimately wouldn't be able to make it to a single checkpoint before IUE turned the tide and won the round. That final victory earned IU East Esports their first ever championship win. IU East Overwatch 2 won the entirety of NACE Starleague's Open Plus Division 12. Divisions are composed by a combination of in-game ranks and geographic location.

"The road for our Overwatch team ended on a huge history making win, but I just want to say that it's been an awesome path to walk with the team," said team damage dealer Kyle DeLeon shortly after Tuesday's win. "I feel like we grew a huge bond that could not be replaced… …and thanks to the GOAT Kady for guiding us and taking the time to break down what this team could accomplish."

"This team has legit changed my life for the better so much! The team have made me feel so much more confident in my abilities and have been an absolute joy to play with. I feel extremely honored to have been able to be on this team," reflected Annie White, team healer, after the big win. "Meeting and playing with the team has given me some of the best core memories and some of the best friends I've had! The synergy we had as a team will be unrivaled. I am so beyond proud of the esports team for making the win possible for IU East and ourselves, this team is truly the GOAT!"
