Red Wolves Win Home Opener

RICHMOND, Ind. — The IU East women's volleyball team got back to their winning ways on Saturday as they defeated IU South Bend 3-1 (25-19,25-11,22-25,25-17).

The win snapped a short two-game losing streak and improve to 10-5 on the season. The Titans fell to 0-17.

Jessica Swimm led the Red Wolves with 16 kills. Teah Barrett Matthews was right behind with 15. Freshman Aislyn Hogan led the way with 44 assists.

The Red Wolves rolled in the first two sets but found trouble in the third. IU East had seven attack errors compared to their 10 kills. The Titans, also, saved their best hitting performance for the third set. They hit .250 with 11 kills.

IU East was able to get the job done in the fourth to secure the win.

The Red Wolves will enter River States Conference play on Tuesday as they travel to Rio Grande.
