Kirchenstien Kicks Off NAIA National Championships

MARION, Ind. – Rex Kirchenstien kicked off the NAIA Track and Field National Championship for the Red Wolves on Wednesday.

 

Kirchenstien was the only Red Wolf to participate on Day 1 in the decathlon. He earned 795 points in the 100m with a time of 11.3, good for eighth out of 16. He finished 15th in the long jump, earning him 571 points before he finished 10th in the shot put with a throw of 11.41m. In his last event of the day, Rex finished sixth in the 400m, earning him a total of 777 points. After Day 1, he has a total of 3,358 points, which puts him 12th overall.

 

Kirchenstien will finish his decathlon tomorrow. Joining him will be Cameron Nocton in the race-walk at 5:15 p.m. and Ty'Shaun Williams in the discus.
