Red Wolves Finish Fourth in IUE Invitational
RICHMOND, Ind. - The Indiana University East men's golf team finished fourth as the Red Wolves completed the IU East Fall Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Both the A and B teams for the Red Wolves posted identical scores of 297-302-599 in the two-day event at the Highland Lake Golf Course.
The University of Rio Grande (289-291-580) won the affair, while Earlham College (296-288-584) finished second with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (295-290-585) was third. The other team scores were IU Kokomo 305-295-600, Alma College 307-298-605 and Defiance College 319-319-638.
Sam Firebaugh with a 73-69-142 was tied for second on the individual leaderboard to make the all-tournament team. Justin Hopkins of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods was the medalist with a 67-73-140.
IU East's other scores were Ethan Sunsdahl (72-75-147, T9th), Zach Rutan (71-77-148, T11th), Austin Shelley (72-78-150, T18th), Emiliano Tercero (82-68-150, T18th), Dillon Letendre (72-80-152, T25th), Braden Tedder (77-75-152, T25th), Ryan Craig (77-75-152, T25th), Mason Hahn (75-79-154, T35th), Riley Bratton (80-78-158, 70th) and Andon Ross (80-82-162, T72).
Next up for IU East is the Lawrence Tech Collegiate Kickoff on Sept. 3-4. The two-day event is at the Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Michigan.
